Chalky Starscapes
This piece of music was the central theme for the Ancram Center for the Arts’ production of Constellations. This looping composition was never heard in complete during the play, pieces punctuated the so called italic scenes, where our star scorned lovers discussed their shared experiences and plans for the future. Across scenes the music fades between two versions: a fully orchestrated and cosmically charged iteration and an earthier stripped down acoustic piano incarnation. Near the end of the play, our couple sorts through their life and struggles to face the future together: the dense complexity of the cosmos fade away to reveal the polestars they intend to follow: each other.
